About Growing Ideas

As a boutique consulting company, our purpose is to help CEOs develop a more accurate picture of their reality so they can reach their goals and enhance the lives of their employees. We are dedicated to search for a better solution, have the desire to do what's right, to expand knowledge, and to find structure through creativity.

Growing Ideas started in 2013 by Lori Ell to help growth-oriented organizations grow vision into tangible results. After working in multi-billion dollar, start-up and mid-market companies, Ms. Ell noticed that business leaders were challenged to put in place strategic plans that were sustainable. She, too, experienced the challenges of executing a strategic vision while leading a private mid-market company for almost a decade that she successfully rebuilt and later sold. After selling the company, Ms. Ell starting working independently with CEOs coaching them on strategic execution. Drawing on her education, her diverse business background and further insights from working with business leaders and entrepreneurs, she recognized an opportunity to better equip leaders for success.  

Growing Ideas was created, recognizing that growth-oriented entrepreneurs needed more than just access to the latest strategic business tools to be successful. In many mid-market organizations, business leaders wear many different hats, sometimes feel isolated, and spend an enormous amount of time working in their business versus on their business. These leaders need specialized support to ensure that the execution of a plan is achievable. They require help to find clarity to choose what not to do, to determine the critical levers in their business model that will drive profitability, and to understand the organization’s key differentiating activities better. To turn strategic concepts into reality, organizations require a skilled facilitator and coach to achieve team alignment, openness and adaptability. Organizations need to invest in narrowing the gap between a leader's perceived competencies to actual competencies and facilitate more robust and meaningful meetings that drive tangible outcomes. Growing Ideas offers strategic methods that incorporate learnings on group dynamics, trust, and behaviours, to provide more robust strategic execution and leadership development services to entrepreneurs, CEOs and leaders alike.
